Art Overview 2/11-2/15

K- Review of texture, man made and natural. Project – oil pastel owls. Students will draw an owl using oil pastels and step by step directions. Texture will be added for feathers.

1st- Raccoons. Students will draw raccoons following a set of directions. They will create the environment for their raccoon using overlapping to show space. These will be finished in oil pastels.

2nd – Penguin compositions- Students will create the background using tempera paints to mix intermediate colors. Penguins etc. will be painted onto the background using ideas of foreground and background.

3rd – Upcycle 3D fox. Students will create a fox using cardboard rolls, paper and paint.

4th – Intro to op art. Students will use line and shape to create their designs. These will be finished using complementary colors in color pencils.

5th – Students will create sketches of owls and then create a composition using scratch board.

6th grade – Intro to color schemes. Students will create 3 compositions on the same paper. These will be finished using tempera paint, each section having a different color scheme.

7/8th- Intro to color schemes. Students will create 3 compositions on the same paper. These will be finished using tempera paint, each section having a different color scheme.

Murals- Students will continue painting, chalking, and sketching murals
